We are a small practice, based in Cornwall and offer a bespoke and high quality design service to our clients. Our growing portfolio includes new build and refurbishment projects, interiors, repair and conservation work - we aim to bring intelligence and imagination to all our commissions.
We always consider how a project will make a positive contribution to its setting, or 'place', and can support that goal with strategic advice on urban and landscape design in addition to a full architectural service. For larger projects we can recommend fellow consultants with whom we like to collaborate, in order to broaden the disciplines and capacity within our team - whilst maintaining a coordinated approach. We pride ourselves in fully understanding our clients' requirements and then exploring - with them - the constraints and opportunities of a site, or existing building - in order to generate a solution that is 'fit for purpose', 'of its place' and certainly has some special qualities that 'lift the spirits'... ...conventional design principles such as order, proportion, harmony, scale, rhythm, contrast and balance are merged with more dynamic handling of space, light, material and form. An interest in how the craft of building (both ancient and modern) might inform aesthetics is a constant inspiration. |
